Woman charged after man stabbed

A woman has been charged after a man was allegedly stabbed during a domestic violence incident on Christmas night.

Police were called to a unit in Rance Road, Werrington, about 11.30pm on Friday, responding to reports of an argument involving a man and woman.

They found a 28-year-old woman suffering minor injuries after she was allegedly assaulted. She was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene.

Police then went to a home in Emerton where they found a 34-year-old man suffering a cut to his left forearm; he was taken to Nepean Hospital but has since left.

“The woman was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station where she was charged with wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm,” a police spokesperson said.

“She was granted conditional bail to appear in Penrith Local Court on Tuesday 12 January 2016.”

Police from St Marys Local Area Command are now seeking to speak with the man about this incident.
