The best figure skaters from all around Australia have descended on Penrith for the 2015 Australian Figure Skating Championships.
Held at the Penrith Ice Palace from Saturday, November 28 until Friday, December 4, it will be the first time Penrith has hosted the major annual event since 2009.
Along with the country’s top male and female skaters, including two Olympians, a number of local competitors will also be going for gold including 14-year-old Emu Heights resident Emily Imber.
Her mother, Janelle Imber, said the Championships will be a great chance for locals to see some of Australia’s elite in various events.
“The Championships will see Australia’s top skaters in mens and ladies singles, pairs, ice dance couples, adult divisions and synchronised skaters,” she said.
“Locals will also get to witness two Australian Sochi Olympians including Brendan Kerry and Brooklee Han.”
