Former UFC superstar Tyson Pedro will be making his long-awaited boxing debut at Uncaged – a boxing extravaganza in Penrith packed with some of the best talent Australia has to offer including Paulo Aokuso, Alex Leapai Jr and former Panthers star Tyrone Peachey.

Uncaged will be available live & exclusive for all Stan Sport subscribers from 7.00pm on Wednesday, November 20.

Looking to kickstart his professional boxing career with a bang after stepping out of the cage, Pedro will enter the ring with Australian heavyweight champion Kris Terzievski, the 12-1 monster perhaps most well-known for being one of only two men to hold a win over Paul Gallen, uniting the Australian and Australasian heavyweight belts in the process.

Pedro, a local who part-owns Drink West, has been one of Australia’s hottest combat sports athletes in the past decade, following a successful seven-year run in the UFC light heavyweight division which included stoppage victories over recent UFC title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr and tough Scotsman Paul Craig. Following an elbow injury which forced him out of his planned June debut, the time has come to prove his skills in the boxing ring.

“I could have fought someone easy, but I didn’t want to pull the wool over the Australian public’s eyes. I wanted to have a hard opponent, I wasn’t planning on taking any easy fights. We want to put on a show for the boxing community,” Pedro said.

”It’s a lose-lose for him. If he loses to me, he loses to an MMA fighter.”

The two will battle over the WBC International Bridgerweight Title on Wednesday, November 20 at Panthers Leagues Club.

The co-main event will prove to be another must-see clash between highly ranked Aussie superstars, as the unbeaten Paulo Aokuso [7-0] collides with the tough Clay Waterman [13-1] for the WBC Australasian Light Heavyweight Title.

Aokuso, a former Olympian and uncle to cross-code rugby superstar Joseph-Aukuso Sua’ali’i, will be looking to retain his perfect streak and add another belt to his collection.

A final card for Uncaged will be announced in the coming weeks.

Presented by JNI Promotions, the Uncaged Fight Night will be available to watch ad-free, live and on demand for all Stan Sport subscribers.
