The Panthers could be without inspirational prop James Fisher-Harris for Sunday’s clash against Newcastle.
Penrith was today waiting on scan results after Fisher-Harris suffered a suspected adductor strain in the early minutes of yesterday’s clash with the Dragons.
He did not return to the field, though was not officially ruled out – suggesting the injury is not hugely serious.
However, an adductor strain can take anywhere from two weeks to a month to recover from.
Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said the prognosis was unclear yesterday.
“I’m not too sure how bad it is,” he said.
Penrith would be unlikely to risk Fisher-Harris, particularly with the Finals just around the corner and a top four finish looking extremely likely.
Lindsay Smith would likely start against the Knights if Fisher-Harris is ruled out.
Cleary is due to hold a press conference at 10am tomorrow where an update on the Warriors-bound forward is likely.
