Woman dead after hit-and-run incident in Penrith

Police are appealing to locate a missing boy from Emu Plains.

A woman has died following a crash in Penrith this evening.

About 5.30pm today, emergency services were called to Macquarie Avenue, Penrith, following reports a ute had allegedly struck a pedestrian.

The Weekender can confirm the vehicle left the scene without stopping. A major search is now underway for the driver and vehicle.

A woman – believed to be aged in her 40’s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.

“She is yet to be formally identified,” a Police spokesperson said.

“Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene which will be forensically examined by investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit.

“A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.”
