It’s fun to play at The Y! New centre to open on Monday

The Y Penrith.

The Y Penrith is starting a new chapter and opening the doors to its state-of-the-art Batt Street centre on Monday, June 30.

The multi-million-dollar investment will offer enhanced amenities, cutting-edge equipment, and more opportunities for kids to thrive.

Chief Executive Officer of Y NSW Rob Kennaugh has assured locals the new Batt Street centre will continue offering all the trusted programs and coaching staff that families know and love.

“We are so excited to be inspiring more lives in the Penrith area by establishing our new Penrith Community Hub where we are bringing to life an incredible space to serve the region,” Kennaugh said.

“There will be brand new gymnastics equipment, multi-purpose court, a range of sport and recreation activities, as well and other services like the Y’s StreetGym and Alternative Suspension programs.”

Penrith Mayor Todd Carney and his wife Sharon are excited for the facility’s fresh start.

“The Y is a second home to our kids, the coaches are like extended family,” said the parents.

“It’s an exciting time knowing a new, welcoming and state-of-the-art facility is just about to open. The new facility and equipment will provide the resources gymnasts need to have fun and grow their skills.

“It’s not just about sport – it’s about community and confidence-building. We’re all thrilled for this next chapter and our kids are so excited to see the new space.”

Locals are encouraged to visit The Y Penrith’s new centre from Monday, June 30 between 9am and 6pm at 62/72 Batt Street, Jamisontown.

A Grand Opening will be held later this year.
