Penrith hooker Mitch Kenny suspended for two matches

Penrith hooker Mitch Kenny will miss this Saturday’s showdown with Manly as well as the Magic Round clash with Brisbane.

He’s entered an early guilty plea to a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge levelled at him by the NRL’s Match Review Committee.

It follows his tackle on Roosters forward Nat Butcher early in last Saturday’s clash at Allianz Stadium.

The incident went unpunished on-field but Butcher was ruled out of the game.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson was critical of the lack of action by the referee in his post-match press conference.

The Panthers could have opted to fight the charge, but Kenny will instead sit out the next two games and return for the Round 10 clash against North Queensland.
