Man charged with murdering Penrith man Johnny Birch

A man has been charged over the alleged murder of Penrith man Johnny Birch.

Police have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 39-year-old Birch, whose body was found on a property on Gleness Place at Glenorie on March 14.

Following inquiries, two men, aged 24 and 34, and a 35-year-old woman, were arrested at the scene and were taken to Castle Hill Police Station.

They were released pending further investigation.

About 2.15pm today (Sunday, March 23), police arrested a24-year-old man at a home on Meridan Avenue, Glenorie.

He was taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

Inquiries under Strike Force Halderen continue.
