A man has been charged over a road rage incident where a machete was allegedly produced in Sydney’s north west.
About 5.10pm on Thursday, March 13, a man allegedly exited his vehicle whilst stopped in traffic along Glossop Street, St Marys, and approached another motorist also stopped in traffic.
It will be alleged the man smashed the drivers side window of the vehicle with a machete.
Both parties – who are not known to one another – have driven from the scene.
Witnesses shortly afterwards reported the incident to officers at Nepean Police Area Command who commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries at about 3.30pm on Friday, March 14 officers attended a home in Idriess Crescent, Blackett, and arrested a 47-year-old man.
The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property, use knife in public place-cause person to fear for safety, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm and armed with intent commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 15 March 2025.
The driver of the other vehicle – a 46-year-old man – was uninjured.
