A massive storm has ripped through Penrith, throwing up a spectacular lightning display along with heavy rain and strong winds.
The storm hit just before 8pm, rocking through Penrith’s suburbs with plenty of force.
Despite the downpour, there’s been no reported widespread power outages or accidents, with just limited localised flooding on roads.
There are some power issues in surrounding suburbs like Silverdale and Warragamba while there’s also outages in certain parts of Kingswood and Cambridge Park, which are under investigation.
The storm followed a typical summer day in Penrith, with temperatures in the mid-30s.
A cooler day with a top temperature of 24 degrees is expected tomorrow.
