Vintage FM is back.
The radio station is broadcasting into Penrith again on the 87.8 FM frequency.
Vintage FM started broadcasting to the Penrith area on January 1, 2009, becoming Penrith’s primary local radio station.
It essentially left Penrith in 2021, transmitting from Razorback Mountain Picton on 88.7 FM.
But Vintage has now returned to its roots on 87.8, and will also continue broadcasting across the Camden and Wollondilly area on 88.7 FM, as well as online through iHeart radio.
“It will be great to have a strong FM signal back in the Penrith and Hawkesbury areas”, according to Vintage FM Sales Manager Wayne Willmington.
“Over the years, we have helped so many businesses in this area grow, and we look forward to doing it again. I love helping and promoting local businesses.”
Vintage FM Director Barry Parsons said it was an exciting move.
“Local radio is so important for the local community and Vintage FM will continue to support the community as well as continuing to play music that is over 40 years old,” he said.
“New transmitters have now been installed to transmit the Vintage FM signal on 87.8 FM.”
Vintage FM’s playlist draws from a large variety of songs from the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s – songs that will bring back great memories.
The Vintage FM on air team are all locals and have many years of experience. They include Kevin Graham, John Bond, Wayne Willmington (Willmo) and Brian Campbell.
