Penrith locals are set to swelter today with temperatures predicted to peak at 42 degrees.
While hot days in summer are nothing new in Penrith, it won’t make getting through the day any easier.
Many are likely to flock to Penrith Beach, which has re-opened for the summer season.
There’s the chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon or evening ahead of a cool change coming through, which will result in a top of just 25 on Wednesday.
But the hot conditions will be back for the weekend, with tops of 35 predicted on Saturday and 38 on Sunday.
Locals are being reminded to take extra precautions in the hot conditions.
