Four-year-old dies after being hit by car

A four-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car at North St Marys this afternoon.

The summer holiday tragedy occurred at about 12.05pm today.

Emergency services were called to Glossop Street, North St Marys, where the four-year-old boy had been hit by a Ford Sedan.

The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died a short time later on route to hospital.

The male driver was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing.

“A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the incident,” police said in a statement.

“As investigation continue, police are urging anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV or information about the incident to contact Nepean Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
