Ticketek back online after major outage frustrates customers and partners

Ticketek has taken the step of emailing physical tickets to shows in the wake of a major outage on its website over the past 24 hours.

The major ticketing outlet in Australia was was offline after what it has labelled as a “threat” to its systems.

But communication with customers was poor – and it’s not even allowing replies to a statement it has posted to X.

“Ticketek wishes to thank its Customers and Partners for their patience while our systems were temporarily offline. Our systems were back online earlier this morning and we apologise for any inconvenience,” the statement said.

“We took this action as a precautionary measure in response to system monitoring indicating a heightened threat level.”

Users visiting the Ticketek website and app were told that a scheduled upgrade was taking longer than expected.

But in a sign that more trouble is perhaps expected, those with tickets to country superstar Kane Brown tonight have been emailed physical tickets in the last hour, even if they’ve selected mobile delivery tickets.

The drama meant customers couldn’t purchase tickets to shows or sporting events or access existing tickets.

Various pre-sales were re-scheduled, while a host of local venues were also impacted.
