A new café has been approved for St Clair Shopping Centre, taking over the old Gloria Jeans store.
The Shed Café will be opening a new location in St Clair after already having over 20 locations across Sydney.
Last month, Penrith City Council approved the Development Application (DA) for the new café, which included an extended outdoor dining area that could seat up to 20.
“Council approval is sought for the installation of a roof structure above the existing outdoor dining area and use of tenancy 34 (both internal and outdoor dining area) as a café,” the Statement of Environmental effects (SEE) attached to the DA said.
“The installation of a roof structure to the existing outdoor dining area is a cosmetic improvement, providing a safe and weatherproof outdoor dining area for the patrons.”
The café is set to operate seven days a week.
“The proposed operating hours for the shop will result in positive operational outcomes for The Shed Café, responding with community expectations in the St Clair Shopping Centre context as well as providing more options for the consumers beyond other facilities within the Shopping Centre,” the SEE said.
“The development will positively contribute to the social and economic diversity of St Clair Shopping Centre, and to the wider community.
“The proposed store fit out works and the operational hours for the store will ensure the viability of the business and provide flexibility to the consumers post COVID.”
The Shed Café at St Clair Shopping Centre is expected to open soon.
