Police divers have found the body of man who disappeared yesterday in the Nepean River at Mulgoa.
A search had been underway of Nortons Basin at Mulgoa since a 68-year-old man jumped into the river to retrieve his fishing rod about 11am yesterday.
It was initially reported that the man had chosen to go for a swim, but police have now confirmed he had dropped his rod into the water.
A search resumed about 9am today, involving officers from Nepean Police Area Command and the Police Dive Unit; and the man’s body was located about 10.40am.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
