Customers of a major bank have been left without access to Internet Banking after a planned overnight upgrade hit a snag.
Bank of Queensland (BOQ) had advised customers of an overnight outage due to upgrades, but they were scheduled to be completed by early this morning.
As of 4pm this afternoon the service remains down with no sign of a restoration.
“Our service interruption is taking a little longer than expected. We aim to be back online soon and appreciate your patience,” an update posted on the BOQ website at 1.45pm said.
@BOQ Going over time on a scheduled maintenance on a Sunday, when can’t go to a branch or speak to someone or can’t speak to someone on your phone is very poor. I will be definitely looking for another bank to keep my funds. Not being able to access to transfer money is a joke!!!

Customers have taken to social media to express their frustration.
BOQ is currently in the midst of buying back its franchises and ending its owner-manager model, which includes its Penrith branch.
