A mix of youth and experience is set to form a new-look Penrith City Council.

While the NSW Electoral Commission won’t declare results officially until next month and pre-poll and postal votes are still being counted, the Council is starting to take shape.

In East Ward, all five Labor candidates were elected uncontested – Todd Carney, Libby Austin, Sarbjeet Kaur, Edwin Mifsud and Garion Thain.

In North Ward, Labor appears certain to get John Thain and Robin Cook across the line while Ross Fowler and Reece Nuttall will be elected for the Liberals.

The fifth spot is a close race but it would appear Independent Glenn Gardiner is on track to secure it.

In South Ward, Labor candidates Hollie McLean and Kirstie Boerst will get across the line while Independent Sue Day and the second on her ticket, Faithe Skinner, appear likely to be elected.

The fifth spot is set to be filled by Libertarian candidate Vanessa Pollak.

if the results hold, Labor is set to dominate the new Council with nine of the 15 Penrith Councillors representing the party.
