Penrith players have stood up in an epic State of Origin decider, helping New South Wales to a 14-4 win over Queensland.

Dylan Edwards was named player of the match while Jarome Luai was among the Blues’ best.

Luai broke the game wide open with a spectacular run that led to the game’s opening try to Bradman Best in the 64th minute.

Before then it had been an absolute arm wrestle, with the Maroons leading 2-0 at half-time and 4-2 before Bradman scored.

“We had a great bunch of boys that really ripped in tonight,” Edwards told Channel Nine.

“Both teams played it in the Origin spirit. There was a lot of intensity and a lot of aggression.”

For Edwards it was a fitting end to his first series for the Blues, especially given he cruelly missed the opening game through injury.

Isaah Yeo was also strong for the Blues, assuming the captaincy role in a 58 minute stint, with official skipper Jake Trbojevic again playing limited minutes.

New South Wales win the series 2-1.
