The woman allegedly murdered by her partner in Kingswood yesterday has been revealed as 21-year-old Nunia Kurualeba.
Born in Fiji, Kurualeba is the daughter of a respected police officer who passed away in January 2016 from illness.
As a 14-year-old, she had expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps and become a police officer.
She was living at a unit on the Great Western Highway in Kingswood, where she met her untimely end yesterday afternoon – allegedly at the hands of her partner, Jeremaia Tuwai, who has been charged with murder.
It is understood at least one other person was home when Tuwai allegedly stabbed Kurualeba twice in the chest. That person raised the alarm with police.
Tuwai was arrested last night and charged this morning.
News Corp reports their relationship was relatively new, having started dating late last year.
In a tragic twist, Kurualeba had posted a photo of herself on TikTok just hours before her death – a selfie, smiling at the camera.
She was a regular poster on the social media platform.
Tuwai is due to front court today.
