Two people have died after an incident near the car park of Nepean Hospital this afternoon.
The driver of a car is understood to have suffered a medical episode, before crashing into a pedestrian. However, it’s still early the investigation with police still piecing together what happened.
Both women died at the scene despite quick attention from paramedics.
The Weekender understands the two deceased people are women, one in her 60s and one in her 40s.
It’s understood another woman, aged in her 30s, was treated for shock after witnessing the incident.
Her vehicle was reportedly reversed into by the woman in her 60s in the lead-up to the accident.

In a statement, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District urged people to avoid the area near the multi-storey car park on Parker Street.
“Emergency services are responding to an incident near Nepean Hospital’s multi-storey car park on Parker Street,” the statement said.
“Patients, visitors and staff are being asked to avoid the area. Nepean Hospital and its emergency department remain open.
“Gate 2 entry to campus is closed. Please use alternative entries. Please allow extra time if you are visiting the hospital and thank you for your understanding.”
Police have confirmed they first attended the scene at around 3.20pm, and have confirmed the fatalities.
“Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” a spokesperson said.
The bodies of both women remain on site at Nepean Hospital.
A white sheet covers the vehicle involved, with a large amount of blood surrounding it, offering an insight into what first responders were confronted with.
CCTV footage of the incident is understood to be available, and will form a crucial part of the investigation.
