Unvaccinated shopper “made a fuss” at Lowes

Lowes has confirmed the police needed to be called to its Penrith store yesterday after an incident involving an unvaccinated customer.

The clothing retailer has reopened to in-store customers and is following requirements that shoppers be double vaccinated.

But Head of People, Jason Heap, has confirmed an incident took place at the Westfield Penrith store.

“Our feedback from our stores is that we’re getting lots of people who are coming to us saying they’re not vaccinated, or they’ve only been vaccinated once, and in that case we’re encouraging them to shop online,” he told 2GB.

“We have had one incident at our Penrith store where we’ve had to call the police because an unvaccinated person made a fuss about it.”

Non-critical retail remains closed to unvaccinated people for in-store shopping until December 1.
