A man in his 20s with COVID-19 has died in Nepean Hospital.
He was one of nine COVID-related deaths in New South Wales in the last 24 hours.
Dr Marianne Gale from NSW Health said: “He was not vaccinated and also had serious underlying health conditions.”
A woman in her 60s from Agnes Banks also passed away at Nepean Hospital.
1,480 locally acquired cases were reported statewide, with 60 being reported in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
“There are currently 1,136 people with COVID-19 admitted to hospital. 194 people are in Intensive Care and 74 of those are requiring ventilation,” Dr Gale said.
In brighter news, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said NSW had reached the impressive target of 75 per cent of people having received one dose of a COVID- vaccine.
