5,000 fans could return to matches at Panthers Stadium in July while weddings may soon be back on the agenda under changes announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison today.

While the States will have the final say on what restrictions are lifted and when, Mr Morrison said that under a new-look stage three of restrictions easing, outdoor stadiums with capacities up to 40,000 would be allowed to operate at 25 per cent of capacity from July.

That would allow Panthers Stadium to potentially host a crowd of 5,000 for its match against the Cowboys on July 19.

Mr Morrison also confirmed the old 100 person cap on attendances for indoor gatherings would be scrapped and replaced with the four square metre rule.

That is set to open the doors for the potential return of weddings and corporate events.

Mr Morrison also confirmed the re-opening of nightclubs remained off the agenda for now.
