A four-year-old child who attended a Cranebrook childcare centre has tested positive for Coronavirus.

The Bright Minds Academy centre will be closed today after the child attended the centre for two days while infectious.

The development comes as NSW Health confirmed another two cases at the Newmarch House nursing home in Caddens.

It brings the total cases in the nursing home to 56, including 22 staff and 34 residents.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she remained concerned about the centre, with 11 people passing away since the outbreak began.

“It reminds us how contagious this virus is and how it attacks the elderly and vulnerable in particular,” she said.

“Our hearts go out to all the families of the people who have succumbed to the disease and all the families who are really worried about their loved ones.”

Ms Berejiklian also raised concerns over the lack of communication given to relatives at residents at the facility.
