Penrith forward Viliame Kikau is considered an outside chance of playing against Wests Tigers on Friday night after scans revealed his ankle injury was not as bad as first feared.

Kikau is expected to be named in Penrith’s team for Friday night when it is revealed at 4pm today, but is unlikely to recover in time to play in the clash at Suncorp Stadium.

The Panthers have confirmed Kikau suffered some minor damage to his right ankle ligaments, but scans have fortunately shown the more significant tearing occurred in scar tissue associated with previous surgery to repair his syndesmosis.

The Panthers medical team is now working to reduce the swelling and pain before Kikau will be fit to play.

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that Isaah Yeo will miss four weeks with a shoulder injury.
