The Penrith Panthers have been dealt a blow just three weeks out from the Finals with five-eighth James Maloney sidelined with a knee injury.
Maloney suffered a grade two medial ligament injury during Penrith’s win over the Titans on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers say the 32-year-old will be out “indefinitely” but it is hoped he’ll be back in time for the Finals.
Caretaker coach Cameron Ciraldo will name a replacement tomorrow but it’s likely Tyrone May will partner Nathan Cleary in the halves for Saturday’s game against the Knights.
James Maloney confirmed as Grade 2 Medial ligament injury. Brave to stay on the field for half a game on the weekend. Hopefully back for the semi finals.
