A woman has died after being hit by a car this afternoon in Emu Plains.
Police are desperate for witnesses to come forward following the incident, which happened on Water Street around 4pm this afternoon.
The 59-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene, before she was taken to Nepean Hospital in a critical condition. She died a short time later.
The male driver of the car, a Toyota Camry sedan, was not injured during the incident.
He has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established as investigations take place. Any witnesses are urged to come forward and contact St Marys police via Crime Stoppers.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
