Man hurt after car hits tree

Police are investigating after a single vehicle collision in Londonderry this morning.

Just after 5am today, emergency services were called to The Driftway following reports a Holden Commodore had hit a tree.

The driver, a 54-year-old man, was trapped in the vehicle for a short time before being freed by Fire & Rescue NSW.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene, before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers attached to Hawkesbury Local Area Command attended and have commenced an investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
