Controversial Councillor Marcus Cornish has announced his resignation from the Liberal Party.

Cr Cornish, who was already suspended from the Liberals after he circulated an email criticising the party and Lindsay MP Fiona Scott, has listed 21 reasons as to why he’s ending his association with the party.

He sent his resignation to Liberal Party state director Chris Stone this morning.

“The Liberal Party no longer represents the Conservative views of the people of Australia,” he said in the letter.

He also cited a “lack of conservative policies”, the reintroduction of the M4 toll and issues with the new airport at Badgerys Creek as among his reasons for resigning.
