A man has been arrested by police after he was allegedly involved in a break and enter incident before taking himself to the police station with an amount of illegal drugs in his possession.

At about 3pm on Friday, March 20, police allege that a 40-year-old male from Mt Druitt attended the local home of a 48-year-old male and forced entry.

The two men became involved in a scuffle, where police allege that the intruder threw a number of bottles of beer at the resident.

The 48-year-old sustained a cut to his forehead as a result and left the house to get away from the intruder. Police were called and attended the home but the intruder had already left.

They were able to identify the intruder, who attended Penrith Police Station not long after the incident.

There he was arrested and charged. When police searched the man, he was found to be in the possession of some green vegetable material that police allege to be cannabis.
