Improving the health and wellbeing of families, through our women and children, will be the talk of Saturday night as OZWAC, the Australian Women’s and Children’s Research Foundation, raises funds through its annual Charity Ball.
Over the years, the locally based organisation has funded countless research projects into women and children’s health, purchased valuable research equipment and has raised awareness of the importance of women’s and children’s health in the community.
While the annual OZWAC Charity Ball is a celebration of the organisation’s efforts, it is also a means to raise the funds that support their work.
The organisation last year allocated $60,000 in grants to locally based research groups, with a large portion of those funds generated through the OZWAC Charity Ball.
“It is important for locals to support OZWAC because it’s a genuinely local charity contributing to research in the local area,” said OZWAC Chairman, Simon Gould.
“Even though the research is local, the benefits are mush wider than that. Recently one of the projects we supported, conducted by Prof. Ralph Nannan and his team, had it’s findings published in the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology.”
This year’s OZWAC Charity Ball, with a quirky ‘Disco Fever’ theme, is taking place this weekend on Saturday, May 17, at Panthers’ Evan Theatre and is supported by major sponsor, Dual Homes.
Pre-dinner drinks, a three course meal and entertainment are included in the ticket cost.
There are tickets still available for last-minute attendees, so for more information or to purchase a $120 per person ticket, contact Maree Yabsley on 4734 3205 or Simon Gould on 0402 841 434.
