Motorists are soon to experience safer travel on Mulgoa Road at Mulgoa with major maintenance work to improve the road staring this month.
Tanya Davies MP, Member for Mulgoa, said the NSW Government provided $1.36 million to resurface the road between St Thomas Road and Jerry’s Creek, widen road shoulders to improve safety and improve drainage to reduce water on the road during wet weather.
“Roads and Maritime Services will also improve bus stops along the stretch of road will also be carried out as part of the work,” she said.
“This is great news for the local community and motorists. As a result of this work we will see improved safety and ensure Mulgoa Road serves motorists well into the future.
“The project is part of Roads and Maritime’s commitment to deliver safe, efficient and high quality services and infrastructure to the community and businesses of NSW.”
Work starts on Monday, April 14 and will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 6pm and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays and be completed mid this year, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits will remain in place even outside work hours while the upgrade is carried out.
Motorists are asked to follow the signs, reduced speed limits and the direction of traffic controllers.
“We thank motorists and residents for their patience while this important work is carried out,” Ms Davies said.
