Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal single-vehicle crash in St Marys this morning.
Shortly before 3am, a Subaru Liberty sedan was travelling east along Hobart Street, St Marys, when it left the roadway.
The vehicle crashed into a concrete telegraph pole and caught on fire.
Police from St Marys Local Area Command and Fire & Rescue NSW personnel responded to the incident.
The 40-year-old male driver died at the scene.
No-one else was in the car at the time.
Police are seeking public assistance as they conduct inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
