Moving to a new area can be overwhelming and especially difficult if you don’t have an established network of friends or contacts.
Penrith City Council is introducing a new initiative to make the transition less daunting for new residents.
The first ‘New Resident Information Night’ will be held next month and anyone who has moved into the area in the last 12 months is invited to attend.
This is the start of the ongoing bi-annual program, with the next information night to be held in mid-2013. Penrith City Mayor, Mark Davies, said he hopes this new initiative will help people to feel welcome and settle into the area as quickly as possible.
“The ‘New Resident Information Night’ will inform people about the services and facilities we offer, as well as other important information about schools, shops, social activities, medical services, clubs and other local services,” he said.
There are only 200 places available, so it is important to book in early to secure a spot at the event on November 20. To register, call 4732 7902 or email [email protected].
