Two men are under police guard in hospital following the pursuit and crash of a stolen car in Sydney’s west this afternoon.
About 1.30pm, police attempted to stop a stolen Ford XR8 at Mt Druitt.
The Ford, which is linked to the robbery of a car wash at St Marys yesterday, did not stop and a pursuit was initiated.
Police pursued the car through the local area onto the Northern Road, where it crashed into the rear of a truck at Cambridge Gardens.
The two men in the Ford, both thought to be aged in their early 30s, have been taken to Westmead Hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.
Police will interview them when they are released from hospital. The occupant of the truck was not hurt.
The area is expected to cleared shortly but motorists are warned to expect delays in the short term.
