Police have established a crime scene after a teenager was stabbed outside a shopping centre in Penrith.
About 7pm today, police from Penrith Local Area Command and other emergency services attended the outside area of a shopping centre in Penrith following reports of a stabbing.
A 16-year-old boy was located with a stab wound to his chest.
He was conveyed to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Police have established a crime scene which will be examined by forensic specialists.
Investigators are currently trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
