A 14-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Penrith.

About 1.20am today, police were called to Karella Avenue after a fight between two youths on the street.

During the incident, a 14-year-old boy received a stab wound to his abdomen.

Police from Penrith Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The 14-year-old was taken by ambulance to Westmead Children’s Hospital for treatment. He is understood to be in a stable condition.

Inquiries are continuing into the incident, however at this stage police believe the two youths are known to each other and the attack is not random.

No arrests have yet been made.
