Home invasion at Berkshire Park

Detectives in Sydney’s west are appealing for public help after a woman was threatened and robbed by armed intruders at her Berkshire Park home.

 

About 1am on Sunday, the 62-year-old woman was woken by three males inside her Second Road house.

 

The trio threatened the woman with a large saw and knife before stealing cash and jewellery from a safe and fleeing in her maroon Chrysler PT Cruiser.

 

Police from Penrith Local Area Command were alerted to the incident a short time later and immediately attended the scene.

 

A crime scene was secured and examined by forensics officers.

 

A number of items were seized as evidence.

 

Meanwhile, the victim’s vehicle was located burnt out in bushland at Shalvey.

 

Local detectives are continuing their inquiries to establish a motive for the home invasion.
