A teenager is due to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court charged over the alleged break, enter and steal from an Australia Post office in St Marys last year.
Police attached to Operation Count Down took over the investigation of the break-in on the business in Queen Street after receiving information from Australia Post Corporate Security when mobile phones were stolen from a display early on December 21, 2011.
The investigators executed a search warrant on a home in Griffiths Street, North St Marys, last Friday and seized clothing and a number of items which have been sent for forensic examination.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station where he was charged with break, enter and steal, and attempted break enter and steal.
He is due to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court later today.
Operation Count Down is an initiative of Assistant Commissioner Clifford to address break enter and steal offences in the North West Metropolitan Police Region.
