Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s permanency in the top job may be shaky but MP for Lindsay, David Bradbury, said his devotion to the Prime Minister is steadfast – as a tattoo.
Mr Bradbury was eager to show his support for Ms Gillard in the wake of several media reports that he would not back the Prime Minister in the event of a leadership challenge by Foreign Affairs Minister, Kevin Rudd.
“I support Prime Minister Julia Gillard and in fact I think it would be fair to say that I am one of her strongest supporters but I read in the paper today as I have over the past couple of days that I am someone on a list of so called ‘undecided people’,” Mr Bradbury said as he addressed a press conference held this morning at Our Lady of the Rosary, St Marys.
“I have said both privately and publicly I have stated that I support the prime minister – she is doing a great job in difficult circumstances.
“Now I don’t know what I have to do to go beyond that if means getting a tattoo I’d consider it but somehow I think my wife might object to that. Frankly I think I have said all that I can say – that the Prime Minister has my absolute support.”
Mr Bradbury and the Prime Minister were accompanied by Minister for School Education, Peter Garrett this morning at the local primary school to discuss the results of the Gonski review into education funding.
