Police are waiting to interview a man after he was seriously burned by a car fire in the local area on Saturday.
Police from St Marys Local Area Command have been told a 20-year-old man sustained severe burns when a car caught fire in the driveway of a home in Homestead Road at Orchard Hills about 1am on Saturday.
The car, a Mitsubishi Mirage, had been reported stolen from a home in South Penrith earlier yesterday.
The man was taken to Nepean Hospital by friends before being transferred by ambulance to Concord Hospital where he is being treated for burns to his arms, torso, head and airway.
Police have charged a 21-year-old woman with hindering an investigation. She was granted conditional bail to appear in Penrith Local Court on 5 October.
A number of exhibits have been seized by police for forensic examination.
Investigators hope to interview the injured man as soon as possible.
