
New Panthers recruit Isaiah Papali’i will make his debut for Penrith this Saturday night.
The Kiwi international and former Wests Tigers forward will start in the back-row for the Premiers when they battle the Canberra Raiders in a Pre-Season Challenge match at Sharks Stadium in Cronulla.
Speaking at Penrith’s 2025 Season Launch on Tuesday night, the 26-year-old said he’s been welcomed with open arms since his arrival.
“I’ve been here since before Christmas and the boys have been very welcoming,” he said.
“Coming into the club I knew the standards would be high, but seeing it first-hand has been good for myself and my development.”
Jack Cole and Brad Schneider will combine in the halves, while Daine Lauire will get the start at fullback for the Panthers.
Other names to feature include: Jesse McLean, John Fonua, Asu Kepaoa, Casey McLean, Luron Patea, Luke Sommerton, Preston Riki, Mav Geyer, Matt Eisenhuth, Trent Toelau, Harry Hasett, John Sagaga and Riley Wake.
Tuesday night’s season launch featured a sit-down meal as players and corporate partners gathered to discuss the new season.
Panthers coach Ivan Cleary addressed the crowd about what the season had in store, and the annual player partner draw was conducted.
