CCTV released after Jordan Springs carjacking

Police have released CCTV images and are again appealing for public assistance after a carjacking in Jordan Springs today.

About 10.20am today, Wednesday, April 20, emergency services were called to a shopping centre on Lakeside Parade, Jordan Springs, following reports a man had threatened a woman with a knife before stealing her car.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation to locate the unknown man and the vehicle.

The vehicle was a blue Hyundai i30N with New South Wales registration HER30N.

Just before 1pm today, police were called to the intersection of Rose Crescent and Gloucester Avenue, North Parramatta, after reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Police attended and were told a Mercedes and a blue Hyundai 130N – believed to be the stolen vehicle involved in the earlier incident – had collided, before the male driver of the Hyundai fled the scene on foot.

A search was conducted of the area, with assistance from PolAir; however, the man was not located.

As investigations continue, police have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, slim build, in his 30’s, wearing a grey hoodie, grey track suit pants, white runners and blue medical facemask.
