Appeal to locate missing western Sydney man

UPDATE: Following inquiries and a public appeal, the man was found safe and well at his home, about 3pm on Tuesday, March 29.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a missing man from western Sydney.

Oscar Valenzuela, aged 59, was last seen outside St Marys Train Station about 8pm last night, Monday, March 28.

Unable to be located since, Oscar was reported missing to officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Oscar’s welfare as he lives with dementia.

Oscar is described as being of South American appearance, about 160cm tall, medium build, with grey hair, unshaven, brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black jumper, and carrying a black backpack.

Police have reason to believe Oscar may be in the St Marys area, although he is known to frequent the Penrith and Chester Hill areas.

Oscar is also known to utilise public transport.
