Retirement is suddenly within reach for a South Penrith man after taking home Division One in last night’s Monday Lotto draw.

The player held the only Division One winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4134, drawn Monday, November 29.

He takes home $1 million.

Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the Sydneysider admitted he was still coming to terms with the news.

“Thank you very much,” he managed eventually.

“That news has brought a tear to my eye. I checked the ticket just before while I was having a cup of tea.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for 30 or 40 years. I can’t remember why I picked the numbers I did, but they are certainly special now.”

When asked how he thought he might enjoy his million-dollar win, the man didn’t hesitate before revealing his plans.

“My wife and I will both retire early!” he declared.

“It’s going to be a very different Christmas.

“I’m still trying to absorb the news. It’s a life-changer.”

His winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Southlands Newsagency.
