A former soccer coach, who lived at St Clair, has pleaded guilty to 179 charges relating to the sexual abuse of young boys and dissemination of abuse videos.

Grant Harden faced Sydney Central Local Court today via videolink.

The 30-year-old was arrested last year as part of Operation Arkstone, a major investigation targeting child exploitation.

The Daily Telegraph reports Harden pleaded guilty to 16 counts of having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10, 57 counts of sexually touching a child under 10 and using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child abuse.

A dozen charges, including a bestiality offence, were withdrawn by the prosecution on Thursday.

The case was adjourned to July 30.
