Two men charged as stabbing investigations continue

Two men have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Emu Plains earlier this week.

About 8am on Thursday, emergency services were called to a reserve on Russell Street, Emu Plains, after reports the body of a man had been located.

He has since been formally identified as a 23-year-old man from Erskine Park – Mak Muon.

A vehicle found crashed nearby was seized for forensic examination.

Detectives from Nepean Police Area Command established Strike Force Mathinna to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

As part of inquiries, investigators arrested a 26-year-old man at a home on McCauley Crescent, Emu Plains, about 7.15pm and a 22-year-old man at a home on Monica Avenue, Hassle Grove, about 7.40pm yesterday.

The men were taken to Penrith and St Marys Police Station, respectively.

Both were charged with ‘conceal serious indictable offence of other’ and ‘hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other’.

Police will allege in court that the men provided investigators false and misleading information regarding the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

They were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today.

Investigations continue.
