Vodafone says customers in Jamisontown can expect to experience problems with the telco’s service for at least another two days.

Users of the phone network have been complaining of major reception issues in Jamisontown since last Thursday.

A Vodafone spokesperson confirmed to the Weekender that work on one of its mobile sites was ongoing.

“Vodafone is upgrading one of its mobile sites in Jamisontown to introduce 5G services and improve 4G performance through increased capacity for our customers in the area,” the spokesperson said.

“To ensure the safety of our technicians, it is necessary to turn off the site while the upgrade work is being completed.

“As a result of the upgrade and the extra traffic on surrounding mobile sites, some customers may experience intermittent interruptions to their mobile voice and data services while the upgrade work is being completed.

“We apologise for any inconvenience to our customers. The work is scheduled to conclude on the 19th August.”
