A teenager has suffered serious crush injuries to his legs and pelvis after the jack under the car he was repairing collapsed at his Cambridge Park residence.
The 17-year-old was trapped under the car and was extricated by emergency services personnel from Fire and Rescue NSW.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance just before 1.45pm, landing 15 minutes later in Allsop Oval, Cambridge Park.
NSW Police escorted CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic assessed the patient’s condition when he was extricated from under the vehicle and prepared him for hospital transfer.
The teen was transported in a stable condition by NSW Ambulance to Westmead Hospital under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
